Jon Stafford, RN, BSN, NCSN

For the past sixteen years, Jon has served as a public school nurse and district coordinator. In this role, he works daily at the boundary of medicine, education law, and institutional policy—managing care plans, ensuring compliance, and documenting decisions that carry legal significance. This experience forms the core of his consulting practice, particularly in cases involving school-based care, IEP/504 compliance, and pediatric standard-of-care issues.

Jon holds an Associate of Science in Nursing from North Shore Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. He is a Registered Nurse (RN), a DESE-licensed Massachusetts educator, and a Nationally Certified School Nurse (NCSN). He also holds a certificate in Legal Nurse Consulting from BARBRI and is a member of the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN).

At Stafford Legal Nurse Consulting, Jon applies this experience to identify deviations from standard of care, analyze complex medical and educational records, and translate them into clear, defensible findings for legal use.

Jon Stafford brings more than two decades of experience at the intersection of healthcare, behavioral health, and education—where clinical care, policy, and legal standards routinely converge in the lives of children.

Before entering nursing, he spent ten years as a mental health counselor in residential care and later provided Applied Behavioral
Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with autism, building a strong foundation in developmental and behavioral health. He went on to practice as a pediatric nurse in intensive care, acute care, and emergency settings at Boston Children’s Hospital, Shriners Burns Hospital, and North Shore Children’s Hospital, where clinical precision and documentation are critical to patient outcomes.
