Jon Stafford, RN, BSN, NCSN

For more than two decades, Jon Stafford has dedicated his career to understanding how medical, behavioral, and educational systems intersect in the lives of children. Before entering nursing, he spent ten years as a mental health counselor for children and adolescents in residential care — work that demanded empathy, structure, and consistency. He later provided one-on-one Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy for children with autism, deepening his understanding of developmental and behavioral health.

Jon’s nursing career began at the bedside in pediatric intensive care, acute care, and emergency medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, Shriners Burns Hospital, and North Shore Children’s Hospital. Those early years taught him that precision and vigilance can be the difference between crisis and recovery.

For the past sixteen years, Jon has served as a public school nurse and district coordinator, where clinical practice meets law, policy, and ethics every day. He has built a career on accuracy, documentation, and sound judgment — ensuring that medical facts are understood clearly and decisions are grounded in evidence.

Jon earned an Associate of Science in Nursing from North Shore Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. He holds professional credentials as a Registered Nurse (RN), a DESE-licensed Massachusetts educator, and a Nationally Certified School Nurse (NCSN), and is a member of the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN).

Jon brings this accumulated experience to Stafford Legal Nurse Consulting with the same focus that has guided his entire career. His work is defined by careful analysis and a disciplined attention to documentation, ensuring that every medical record tells its story truthfully and completely.
